Lee Baughman needs rest after his Donegal High School football games as he plays running back, strong safety, punts, kicks-off and kicks extra points & field goals!
Baughman said this year the Indians will improve upon last year’s 3-7 record.
His goal for the team is set on getting to the playoffs. His individual goal is to improve on last year's individual rushing total of 1,200 yards.
Neighboring Elizabethtown is Donegal’s first game where his Indians hope to start the season in a winning way. Often the first game sets the tone for the year. Other games Baughman is excited for later in the season includes Lampeter Strasburg, where the Indians and the Pioneers have played close games favoring L-S. He wants this year to be different. There's also the coaching connection: Donegal head coach John Manion previously had a long, successful tenure as the Pioneers' skipper.
Baughman also competes in wrestling where he may move up a weight to 172 pounds this winter. He will use some of his expertise from his interest in mixed martial arts skills.
In school, Baughman is a member of the National Arts Honor Society and enjoys both history and math classes.
Interestingly, Baughman plans a career in finance as he currently does some “stock trading.”
Baughman's sister, Kiera, is a former LNP “Athlete of the Year.”
