Penn Manor's Justin Onderonk reflects on last football season, 2-4 in Section 1, 2-7 overall, as being one of adversity, but he has plans to tackle that opponent this coming season.
Players attending media day:
(from left)
Justin Onderonk, senior, offensive tackle, defensive end
Collin Robinson, senior, quarterback, defensive back
Jalen Dupree, junior, slot receiver, safety
Elijah Hess, senior, offensive guard, defensive tackle
"We've been lifting all off-season, training, just giving effort every practice, just to prepare ourselves mentally" says Onderonk. "We play some tough opponents, but I know we can do better."
The big game, as usual, will be against Hempfield for the 462 Trophy. Hempfield won last year, but the Comets were victorious in 2023, so this presents a last-year rubber match for the senior class.
Robinson sees the team as underdogs who are not the biggest team, but whose season will go better if they can find some early-season success.
The players see Wilson and Manheim Township as again being the powers of Section 1 based on the commitment those programs generate among their players.
