Patty Epps is a past Director of Athletics and Recreation at Franklin & Marshall College, retiring in 2020. She was the first woman in the school’s history to be named to that position. Prior to her appointment, she was the Diplomats’ tennis coach, leading her teams to 11 conference titles and a pair of NCAA Division III Final Four appearances.

Epps has been an active member of the US professional Tennis Association and has served as chair of NCAA Division III Tennis. She has been honored three times as USPTA Middle States “Coach of the Year” and won the IRA East Region “Coach of the Year” award twice.

Epps also served as F&M’s women’s squash coach for 22 years. Her 1989 team was ranked as high as No. 2 in the nation. Each year the Squash Association presents the “Epps Trophy” (in her honor) to the winner of the D Division of the National Squash Team Championships.

Upon graduating (’67) from McCaskey HS, Epps received the Senior Outstanding Female Athlete Award and is a member of the McCaskey Athletic Hall of Fame.
